Numerous campsites near the lake, scenic alpine basin, wildflowers, creek access. Expect sore legs, stunning Gore Range views, remote wilderness solitude.

  • COLORADO TRAIL: SECTION 6

    Colorado Trail Section 6 (Kenosha Pass → Gold Hill/Breckenridge): approximately 32 miles with ~5,200 ft gain. Climbs steadily to Georgia Pass (~11,878 ft), then descends nearly 2,000 ft before another steep climb and final descent through aspen forests and open meadows. Scenic, challenging alpine route.

  • COLORADO TRAIL: SECTION 7

    Colorado Trail Section 7 (Gold Hill → Copper Mountain): approximately 13 miles with ~3,650 ft gain. Climbs above 12,500 ft, crosses ~3.5 miles above treeline. Stunning Ten‑Mile Range vistas, wildflowers, wildlife, steep descent to Copper. Moderate-to-challenging; start early to avoid afternoon storms.

  • CONTINENTAL DIVIDE TRAIL: SECTION 58

    This section takes you from Copper Mountain to Gold Hill through the White River National Forest.
